Established in the Valley of the Sun in the 1990’s with decades of experience in creating hand made finishes.
Every painter says they do faux painting. This is our specialty. There is getting it done and there is getting it done right.
For over a decade the owner and lead artisan has had a mission of bringing quality faux finishing and decorative painting to Phoenix, Scottsdale and Arizona. Since 1999 he has been using his more than 20 years of experience to bring a more professional level of decorative painting to Maricopa County. These finishes are highly personalized to each clients specification and can be any range of simple through complex finishes in an unlimited range of colors. Often times they involve a layering process rarely seen in The Valley of the Sun including translucent glazes to create complex colors that can not be achieved with conventional opaque paints.
The key is to be very versatile and use traditional methods as well as modern materials in order to create what each client is looking for. Think of ECCFF as a way to project your creative ideas onto your home on a large scale. Most projects involve hand made colors not limited to the choices offered in paint stores. Tailor made to each individuals specifications. The projects are only limited by your imagination. Keep in mind each one of the faux finishes pictured on this site was individually designed to fit into a clients home, so if you don’t see what you like give us a call and we can discuss your possibilities.
The majority of our business comes from referrals and that really says something about the satisfaction of our past clients and how unique our work looks in person. Look over the testimonials page to read some of our reviews.

Faux painting is ideal for the large interiors of Arizona homes.
Decades of experience are what make our finishes so unique.
One of the reasons we stand out above the crowd is the durability of our finishes. Making sure each finished project is washable and more reliable than many store bought paints has been our job for over 20 years. In 2011 a homeowner with a large house we had painted in North Phoenix in early 2000 contacted us to get the house ready to sell. After 11 years and three teenagers the only areas that needed attention was where the drywall had been punctured for nails or other reasons. All of the other walls simply washed clean with little effort.
A common ploy from other Phoenix faux finishers is to start putting paint on the walls immediately leaving the home owner with unprofessional, incomplete and very costly work. Before we start any work every finish is worked up on a series of two foot square pieces of masonite. Be very cautious of any competitor that “assures” you they “know what they are doing” and does not first show you large scale sample boards of previous work, then creates a series of sample boards for your job before any color is applied in your home. This is something that is very common in The Valley of the Sun. Take a look at the “samples” page to browse some of the hundreds of examples from the ECCFF catalog each one customized to accent a unique environment. |

The owner has strived to create a business that separates itself from the laid back approach most other valley faux finishers take towards their work. The name East Coast Custom Faux Finishing pays homage to the strong understanding to the technique and permanence learned from working in homes sometimes hundreds of years old.
Here is some trivia: in the late 1980‘s while working with a Philadelphia company the owner of ECCFF helped to restore Benjamin Franklins grandfather clock. He later went on to work on several restoration projects in the Delaware Valley including the Brewer estate.
Tired of the mundane choices offered at the local paint store, we also offer custom color tinting to achieve unique, one of a kind colors.
